Grilled Tilapia Piccata lets you enjoy the gorgeous summer outdoors as you cook up the sweet and mild fish, positively dripping with bright citrus flavor. It tastes like the light sparkling on the waves! Best of all, Grilled Tilapia Piccata can be made without fuss and in less than half an hour, so you can enjoy the day without breaking a sweat. You'll be beaming as you eat these fantastic fish filets!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more, to taste, for oiling the grill grates
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, plus 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons capers, drained
- 3 tablespoons fresh basil, minced, divided
- 4 (6-ounce) tilapia fillets
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Step 1 -Using the extra oil, lightly oil the grill grates.
Step 2 -Preheat the grill to medium heat.
Step 3 -In a small bowl, whisk the lemon zest, the lemon juice, the remaining 2 tablespoons of the olive oil, and the garlic until blended.
Step 4 -Stir in the capers and 2 tablespoons of the basil.
Step 5 -Reserve 2 tablespoons of the lemon mixture.
Step 6 -Brush the remaining lemon mixture onto both sides of each of the fillets.
Step 7 -Sprinkle the fillets evenly with the salt and the pepper. Grill the fillets, covered, until the fish just begins to flake easily with a fork and is cooked through at 145 degrees F, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Step 8 -Drizzle the tilapia fillets evenly with the reserved lemon mixture.
Step 9 -Sprinkle with the remaining basil and serve.
