Ingredients
- 4 (6-8-ounce) chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 2 teaspoons taco seasoning
- 2 cups chunky red salsa, divided
- lime wedges, to taste, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a slow cooker, add the chicken breasts and space them out evenly.
Step 2 -Sprinkle the chicken breasts evenly with the taco seasoning.
Step 3 -Pour 1 cup of the salsa evenly over the chicken breasts.
Step 4 -Cover the slow cooker and cook until the chicken breasts reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 6-8 hours on low or 3 hours on high.
Step 5 -Using two forks, shred the chicken breasts.
Step 6 -Add the remaining salsa to the shredded chicken and toss to coat.
Step 7 -Squeeze the lime wedges over the chicken mixture and serve.
